Stump Lake Park
The park is operated with the family in mind. It prides itself on being clean and green. There are hiking and biking trails with a variety of wildlife to watch. The playground, tennis, basketball, volleyball, and horseshoe courts are all available without charge. There is miniature golf and sports equipment available at nominal charge.
The large, wood pavilion is unique. Built in the classic seaside resort style over 70 years ago, it remains in mint condition. It is used for roller skating and there is a dance nearly every Saturday, (from square dancing to big band, teen dances, old time and wedding dances).
The Park season is from Mother's Day to Labor Day. A modern cafe is open 7 days a week. The pub has on and off sale of beer. There are modern rest rooms and a new water system.
The 4th of July is a special weekend at the park. Along with the many family and organizations picnics, there is entertainment in the park followed by a free fireworks show. There is a horse show with over 30 events drawing riders from throughout North Dakota. Local amateur softball teams (adult and youth), compete in tournaments on most Sundays.
