McVille Clinic
The McVille Clinic is a Rural Health Clinic providing a full range of primary health care including: full evaluation and treatment for acute illnesses, initial evaluation and treatment for acute trauma and chronic illnesses, routine care for all illnesses, routine physical examinations as well as sports physicals.
Laboratory and radiology services are provided in conjunction with the hospital.
Special procedures are available routinely via mobile services. These include CAT Scans, Dexa Scans (Bone Density), Ultrasound Exams (including Echocardiograms and Carotid Dopple exams) and Mammography.
We are open Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. |

MEDICAL STAFF
Two new health care providers have joined the staff of Nelson County Health System. Dr. Tam Czarnik and Dr. Robin Cox are now seeing patients at the McVille and Lakota Clinics, the Care Center, and at the Hospital. Along with Dr. Martinson, who continues to provide weekend and Holiday coverage, as well as Darlene Kelly, ARNP, we have finally filled our medical staff with quailified and local providers. |

Dr. Tam Czarnik, MD
Dr. Czarnik, MD is a Family Practice physician that comes to us from Marbleton, Wyoming after working for over 13 years in a variety of healthcare settings, including North Dakota. He is Board certified in Family Medicine, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, and Advanced Trauma Life Support, and has an abundance of healthcare experience in rural facilities. He and his wife, Pat, have purchased a home in McVille, and especially enjoy traveling, art, and taking care of their very spoiled cats.
Dr. Tam and Pat are originally from the midwest. Dr. Tam is from Wisconsin and his wife from Detroit, MI. He began his practice in McVille September 21, 2009 after being a locum tenens Dr. for 14 years serving our area.
Dr. Tam is a graduate of Ohio State University, Columbus and performed his residency in Casper, WY. His hobbies include the Mars Society which researches human exploration and currently serves as a medical director for this agency through tele-medicine media. |

Dr. Robin Cox, MD is a Doctor of Osteopathy and comes to us from Dickinson, ND. She has worked as an ER physician in Iowa, Kansas, and Arkansas. She has also worked in a number of VA medical centers throughout the US, including Indian Health Service hospitals, as well as other medical facilities in Michigan, California, and Maine. She is certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Advanced Trauma Life Support, and has attended seminars on Wilderness Medicine for the past 4 years.
She and her husband, Jerry, are busy getting settled in a rural home and anxiously waiting to pursue their hobby of hunting with their dogs.

Lakota Clinic
The clinic is a Rural Health Clinic providing a full range of primary health care. The clinic provides a full continuum of care. From the older, to adult, to younger children. Our goal is to meet the health care needs of the entire community.
Other out patient services are coordinated with the Nelson County Health Services. |

HOME SERVICES
Home services are offered to Nelson County residents and fringe bordering counties through a branch agency of Altru Home Services of Grand Forks. With one phone call, Home Services can assess the patient and their family needs, communicate with the physician and set up needed services or home visits. An initial home visit may be done to evaluate the situation if the needs are uncertain.
If the criteria for coverage are met, Home Services are covered by Medicare, Medicaid and most insurances.
Home Care: Skilled nurses, aides, PT, OT, and Speech Therapists, and a Medical Social Worker are available for services which include skilled observation, assessment, procedures, injections, wound care, bladder and bowel training, medication and nutrition monitoring, and teaching home management of chronic diseases.
Respiratory Therapy: Available services include assessments, nebulizer machines, oxygen set up and training, and equipment for home oxygen use.
Hospice: Physician and nursing services, as well as Social Work, PT, OT, Speech Therapy are available to provide care for the patient in his home or in our facilities. Pain and symptom management, medical equipment and supplies spiritual and bereavement counseling and volunteer services are provided with professional staff on 24 hour/day call.

THERAPY SERVICES
A wide variety of services are provided through our therapy department and these are often covered by Medicare, Medicaid and other insurances if coverage criteria are met.
Physical Therapy: These services are available Monday through Friday for inpatients and outpatients at our facilities. Among the specialty care provided are Cardiac Rehab, Post-Surgical Rehab, Spine Care, Sports Screens, Chronic Pain Care, Home Assessments, Gait Training, Fall Risk Assessment and Balance Training.
Occupational Therapy: These services are available up to five days a week for inpatients and outpatients at our facilities. Among the special services are Assessments and Training in Activities of Daily Living, Feeding Evaluations, Splinting, Positioning, Visual Screens, Home Safety Assessments, Upper Extremity Functioning Assessments, Cognitive Assessments and Training, Wheelchair Evaluations, Homemaking Skills, Dysphasia Screenings, Cardiac Rehab, Hand Therapy, Ergonomics Assessments, Work Hardening Assessments and Training, Arthritis Assessments and Treatment, and Adaptive Equipment Prescriptions and Training.
Speech and Language Services: Speech Pathologists provide services to our facilities two or more days a week for both inpatients and outpatients. Among these services are the evaluation and treatment of Speech, Language, Voice, Cognition, Dysphasia, and Stuttering.
