• Grades K-6 are located in McVille
• Grades 7-12 are located in Petersburg

Prior to formation of the Dakota - Prairie School District,  the school system was known as McVille Public School System.  All former class pictures are now located in the lower level of the McVille City Auditorium.  The class composite pictures that are framed and on display include years from it's inception to 1994.

The McVille school burned in the 60's and class pictures from the early years were destroyed. Some of the years have been recovered by classmates and a local historian.  A group from the Centennial Committee had them reprinted and are now nicely displayed.  However, a few years are missing at this time and are displayed with just names of the classmates.  If any one has a composite picture of missing years 1918, 1919, 1922, 1926, 1927, 1928, 1929, 1932 and 1935, please contact Rita Loibl at 701-322-5669 so we can once again share them with the public.

New School Dakota Prairie Gym Completed In McVille

The students, staff and visitors are in for a treat as the McVille DP School has a new gymnasium. It is currently used for basketball and other sports practices and for PE when students cannot go outside due to weather conditions.

In addition to the gym facility here are two new locker rooms, a large storage room and a storage room for sports equipment on it's north side.

Upstairs and above the north side storage and locker rooms will be the site of a new workout and weight lifting room.
